Festival of Fertility

The Festival of Fertility marks the successful beginning of autumn in the town of Kyustendil and declares it again the orchard of Bulgaria. This autumn holiday of abundance stems from the First National Fruit-Growing Fair in 1896 and is the first and only festival of this kind in the country.

Artistically arranged stands with fruit and vegetables beautify the square and excite with the fertility which the nature gave us. The event has a competitive character and there are prizes for the best participants which encourages the growers.
