The House of Prokopiev

     The house of Prokopiev is the oldest preserved Renaissance house in Kyustendil. It was built in XVIII century. Its owner - chorbadji Davidko Yakovich was a settler from Sofia. The building has a ground floor and a floor with L-shaped plan. The ground floor is divided into two parts by an external staircase to the floor.

 

     On the first floor of the western part there are two rooms and a corridor. The east part has a closet, a kitchen and a store. The second floor is also divided into two parts. The western part repeats the plan of the basement again. The east has two rooms. Оne of them housed The Hellenic school of the city.

 

     The eastern part was built in the middle of XIX century and is unique by the type of architectural design and the style.
